The playoffs are starting, and the records are clean. So regardless of how the Steelers backed their way into the AFC playoffs, they are still a contender for Super Bowl 50. Pittsburgh has a third date with Cincinnati in the Wild Card round, a team they beat in their most recent meeting in December.
Because they are the bottom seed, the Steelers know who their opponent would be if they beat the Bengals. That would be top-seed Denver, who the Steelers also faced earlier this season. Pittsburgh won that matchup too, although that was at the friendly confines of Heinz Field.
According to OddsShark, Vegas also thinks the Steelers have a chance. They are +900 to win SB50, the sixth-best odds among remaining teams.
Here is a look at the teams in front of Pittsburgh along with the odds:
New England Patriots +450
Arizona Cardinals +450
Carolina Panthers +450
Seattle Seahawks +600
Denver Broncos +600
Pittsburgh Steelers +900
The line for Steelers-Bengals opened at even, but the Steelers are now a two-point favorite.
Super Bowl 50 is February 7, 2016 and will be at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
