It’s a new year, and a new start for USWNT.
The reigning Women’s World Cup champions had an incredible 2015, but today’s match against Ireland is the start of a new era for the team. Don’t worry about the weather, today’s match will be played in sunny San Diego.
Keep an eye out for some younger players as Jill Ellis looks to prepare her roster for 2016 Olympic qualifying. New names like Lindsey Horan and Stephanie McCaffrey could join Ellis’ already impressive roster of attacking players.
Today’s match against Ireland airs live on Fox Sports 1 at 5 p.m. Eastern. There is no broadcast outside the US.
