Danish club Midtjylland could pull off the unthinkable today, when they head to Old Trafford one goal ahead on aggregate. United put in an impressive performance earlier this week in FA Cup action over Shrewsbury Town, but will still be without David De Gea and Wayne Rooney in the lineup.
De Gea was injured in warmups before the first leg in Denmark last week, and will once again be replaced by Sergio Romero. The squad is starting to get healthier, as Marcus Rojo will start today’s match on the bench.
Midtjylland are still on winter break from Danish Superliga, but have had previous success in England. They beat Manchester City in the first leg of a UEFA Cup qualifier in 2008 before eventually losing on penalties. United are unbeaten in their last nine European home games, winning seven.
