The NBA’s best take the court in Toronto tonight, as the All-Star game wraps up the weekend festivities. All eyes are on Kobe Bryant, who is playing in his 18th and final ASG. Bryant has been named MVP four times, and is tied for the record with Hall of Famer Bob Pettit. Kobe himself doesn’t think he’s in line for the award, but the way the NBA structures the MVP voting, it may not matter.
If you’re a serious NBA fan, brace yourself: Not only will fan voting account for 25 percent of tonight’s vote, fans can use special All-Star emojis on Twitter to cast their vote.
Kobe is the Vegas favorite to hoist the trophy at +135, followed closely by his Western Conference teammate Steph Curry at +500.
If you’re trying to predict the MVP of tonight’s contest, you might want to start in the backcourt. Six of the past seven MVP winners have been guards, with the lone exception coming form Kevin Durant in 2012.
