While Saul “Canelo” Alvarez vs. Amir Khan is undoubtedly the main attraction in Las Vegas on Saturday night, the rest of the fight card holds plenty of intrigue.
Here’s a completely look at the full list of fights for the PPV event:
Canelo vs. Khan Complete Fight Card
Curtis Stevens def. Patrick Teixeira via KO in 2nd Round
Frankie Gomez def. Mauricia Herrera via Unanimous Decision (100-90, 100-90, 100-90)
David Lemieux def. Glen Tapia via TKO in 4th Round
Canelo Alvarez def. Amir Khan via KO in 6th Round
Undercard Preview
In the co-feature, David Lemieux will take on Glen Tapia. It’s Lemieux’s first action in the ring since an eighth-round TKO loss at the hands of Gennady Golovkin in October, although a bounce-back victory could potentially set up a meeting with Canelo should he also win.
It’s a fight Lemieux should have no problem winning (he’s favored at a whopping -1600), as Tapia, who hasn’t fought since a loss to Michel Soro almost exactly a year ago, will be moving up a weight class. Still, the New Jersey native has knockout power and nothing to lose, which could turn this into an exciting fight.
Mauricio Herrera vs. Frankie Gomez is an intriguing matchup between veteran and prospect, as the former is a longtime contender and title challenger, while the latter is undefeated but has been slightly underwhelming thus far.
Kicking off the card will be Patrick Teixeira, who stands at 26-0, taking on his most difficult opponent yet in Curtis Stevens, a former middleweight title contender who has dropped two of his last four fights.
