Mexico vs. Jamaica: Time, Channel & Lineup

(Getty)

It didn’t go perfect for Mexico in their Copa America opener, but El Tri had a perfect result against Uruguay. The squad didn’t add their ninth clean sheet to what is now a 20-match unbeaten run, but they showed resolve after conceding to Uruguay. Captain Rafa Marquez scored the winner, and it’s always a positive when your ageless captain is scoring goals.

Wes Morgan is Jamaica’s captain, and he didn’t start his team’s opener against Venezuela. Jamaica boss Winfried Schafer said Morgan was out of shape from partying with his Leicester City mates, but ended up subbing Morgan on just before halftime. That’s because Jamaica went to 10 men in the first half, ultimately falling 1-0.

Jamaica’s showing was disappointing to many, as CONCACAF continues to struggle against South American teams. The only savior is Mexico, who after defeating Uruguay have climbed the oddsmakers boards. El Tri are now behind only Argentina to win Copa America, rising from +1100 to +450.
