The first full weekday of Euro kicks off with two-time defending champions Spain taking on Czech Republic.
It’s a meeting of two great keepers, as Petr Cech starts for CR and David de Gea is favored to start for Spain. Despite not losing a match at Euro since 2004, Spain has flown under the hype radar compared to England and France. But Vincent del Bosque’s team have plenty of experience, and shouldn’t struggle to qualify out of Group D.
Spain don’t come to Euro with hype, but rather controversy. Days before the tournament, de Gea called a press conference to deny claims made by a Spanish newspaper that he organized a sex party with prostitutes for his teammates in 2012.
