Game Preview
Both teams had a bit of quarterback drama this offseason. The Redskins were unable to reach a long-term deal, and Kirk Cousins is playing this season on a franchise tag.
After months of posturing back and forth, the Jets and Ryan Fitzpatrick were only able to reach a resolution for this season. Fitzpatrick signed a one-year deal just before training camp as he bet on himself to have another solid season with the Jets.
Both teams made moves to get more help on offense, but neither player will play in tonight’s contest. Matt Forte is expected to add a boost to the Jets backfield while the Redskins drafted TCU wide receiver Josh Doctson.
