The Houston Texans open the 2016 season much like they did last year: at home, slightly favored, and debuting a new quarterback.
It didn’t go so well. Brian Hoyer threw an interception on his first pass attempt of the season, and the Texans fell to the visiting Chiefs in the opener. It was the beginning of a season-long quarterback carousel for the Texans, ending with Hoyer imploding against the very same Chiefs team in the postseason.
Enter Brock Osweiler. The man who has spent the last four seasons shadowing Peyton Manning signed a contract worth $72 million to come to Houston, and the Texans are hoping Osweiler can become what Manning was to the Colts and then the Broncos.
The visiting Bears are looking to improve under head coach John Fox, who went 6-10 in his first season in Chicago.
