The fiercest rivalry in football reconvenes on Sunday as the Bengals head to Heinz Field to take on the Steelers. The NFL is on high alert when these teams meet, as their Wild Card meeting in January was littered with post-play scuffles.
The Bengals, who scored a narrow road win in their opener over the Jets, will still be without linebacker Vontaze Burfict. He’s serving the second of a three-game suspension stemming from his play against the Steelers in the postseason, but he’s been a problem for Pittsburgh in every matchup. During the regular season, it was Burfict whose tackle on the sidelines ended Le’Veon Bell’s season, and it was Burfict who was accused of going low on Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger.
Pittsburgh started the season strong, winning comfortably over Washington on Monday night. Their offense looked balanced in their first outing, with veteran back DeAngelo Williams racking up 143 yards and Roethlisberger throwing for 300 yards and three touchdowns.
