Seattle Seahawks star Russell Wilson appeared to suffer a right ankle injury Sunday afternoon against the Miami Dolphins after Ndamukong Suh unintentionally stepped on the QB’s heel during a sack.
Here’s a look at the play:
Wilson had a noticeable limp as soon as he got up, and although he stayed in for the next couple plays, he was moving gingerly. Backup rookie QB Trevone Boykin immediately put on a helmet and started warming up:
After having his ankle taped, though, Wilson returned the field, ultimately missing zero offensive snaps.
It appears the Seahawks have dodged a bullet, but this will still undoubtedly be something to keep an eye on. While he was able to return to game action, the always-elusive Wilson was clearly lacking mobility following the injury:
Wilson certainly won’t let Carroll take him out of the game, but moving forward, things can change very quickly once the adrenaline wears off. How the talented QB responds overnight and in the upcoming week will be a crucial story to watch.
We’ll be sure to keep you updated on Wilson’s status if anything changes.
