Two nights after the Houston Rockets beat the Dallas Mavericks 106-98 in Dallas, the two teams meet again Sunday night in the Rockets’ home opener. That’s one of seven games on the NBA schedule for Sunday, and it remains to be seen if the Mavs will have forward Dirk Nowitzki. Nowitzki missed Friday’s game with a stomach ailment, and following the game head coach Rick Carlisle was unsure as to whether or not Dirk would be able to play Sunday.
James Harden did what was expected in that game, finishing with 26 points, seven rebounds and eight assists. But what also hurt the Mavericks was the play of Houston forward Trevor Ariza, who scored a team-high 27 points. Harrison Barnes led all scorers with 31, but he’s going to need more help from his teammates especially if Nowitzki can’t play.
