Prediction
The money will be flying in for New England this week, as Landry Jones makes just his third career NFL start against the Patriots. Early reports have as much as 77% of all action on this game going towards the Patriots. The Steelers have been explosive this season, but Jones under center saps the team’s vertical game and turns them into a much simpler offense.
Expect to see plenty of Le’Veon Bell this week, as the Steelers will try to do as much as possible without putting the ball in Jones’ hands. Jones is familiar with the Steelers offense, but doesn’t have the arm strength to run it. Antonio Brown has never caught a TD pass from someone other than Ben Roethlisberger.
Another interesting wrinkle is how LeGarrette Blount will factor into the game. The last time he was in Heinz Field, Blount was walking off the Steelers sidelines before the final whistle in frustration. He was ultimately released, and then signed by the Patriots. If New England takes control of this game early, expect LeGarrette Blount to touch the ball often and wear down a thin Steelers defense.
Prediction: Patriots 31, Steelers 13 (Patriots against the spread, Under 48)
