There are only five games on the NBA schedule for Sunday, with the clear headliner being the Charlotte Hornets visiting the Cleveland Cavaliers. While the Cavs have done what many expected of them, winning seven of their first eight games and sitting atop the Eastern Conference, the Hornets have flown under the radar despite winning six of their first eight. Point guard Kemba Walker has played at an all-star level thus far, averaging 25.9 points and 5.6 assists per game, and overall the Hornets have five players averaging at least ten points per game and four others between 8.3 and 8.6 points per contest.
Sunday’s game in Cleveland is an opportunity for Charlotte to make an early statement, but it won’t be easy with LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love all playing well. Also in action Sunday are the Golden State Warriors, who host the reeling Phoenix Suns, and the Los Angeles Lakers visit Minnesota as they look to pick up their sixth win in the last seven games. Below are the start times and television listings for Sunday’s games, and all times are Eastern.
