Wednesday’s NBA schedule is a busy one, with their being 11 games including a doubleheader being shown on ESPN. But the best game of the night won’t be shown on ESPN, as the Portland Trail Blazers visit the L.A. Clippers at 10:30 p.m. Eastern. Both teams are coming off of wins, with the Blazers edging out Phoenix Tuesday night and the Clippers blowing out Detroit by 32 on Monday. Doc Rivers’ team has been among the hottest in the NBA, with each of their three wins since losing at home to the Thunder all being by double figures. L.A. also won the first meeting between these two, a 114-106 victory in Portland in the season opener for both.
Also of note Wednesday is Utah’s visit to Charlotte to take on another hot team in the Hornets, who are off to a 5-1 start with guard Kemba Walker leading the way. The return of Gordon Hayward has given Utah a noticeable boost offensively, even with point guard George Hill sidelined for the time being with a sprained right thumb. ESPN’s doubleheader consists of the Nets visiting the Knicks in the first game, followed by Houston taking on the Spurs in San Antonio.
