WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs 2016: Matches & Predictions

Tables. Ladders. Chairs. All of these pieces of hardware mean a whole hell of a lot when it comes to professional wrestling.

SmackDown Live has taken the rights to this annual WWE PPV and is ready to let its roster put on car crash matches. AJ Styles and Dean Ambrose will engage in the next chapter of their ongoing war for the WWE World Championship. In what type of match, you ask? A TLC Match! Plus, Ziggler and The Miz will do battle for the IC Championship once again in a Ladder Match. As for the element of steel chairs, Kalisto and Baron Corbin are set to take hold of these foreign objects during their grudge match. Bodies are gonna be strewn all over the ring and around it once this PPV card is through.

Let’s get into our predictions for the stacked match card for WWE TLC 2016.

Baron Corbin vs. Kalisto (Chairs Match)

Predictions & Winner: Corbin’s gimmick pretty much boils down to “King Petty.” When he has an issue with someone, he makes it his priority to constantly disrupt anything his foe is involved with. Corbin’s been targeting Kalisto since forever, but the miniature luchador isn’t easily beaten. All this big man vs. lil’ man back and forth action has led up to this – a one-on-one Chairs match. While we can envision a situation where Corbin destroys Kalisto with such steel tools of destruction, we can also envision a shocking upset. With the aid of steel chairs, Kalisto will get real creative and use them to finally get rid of his Corbin problem. Kalisto wins this one after a heated David vs. Goliath contest.

Nikki Bella vs. Carmella (No Disqualification Match)

Predictions & Winner: This women’s beef has gone on for much longer than we predicted. Carmella has broken out of her babyface shell to embrace her more heelish ways, which has led to her doing some serious damage to Nikki Bella. But Nikki’s responded right back with stiff elbow shots and also managed to pick up a win or two over her ultimate hater. This No DQ meeting looks like it’s set to be the final encounter in their long-running feud. SmackDown Live looks like it needs some fresher competition for the Women’s Championship, which makes us think Carmella will ultimately prevail over Nikki. With the added No DQ stipulation, Carmella will pull some truly nefarious tricks out of her bag to win this one. Nikki’s the old guard and we think Carmella will finally get the career defining win over her to propel her up the card.

The Miz (c) (with Maryse) vs. Dolph Ziggler (Ladder Match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship)

Predictions & Winner: Here’s another matchup that looks like it’s set to bring an end to another longstanding war. And this one’s set to bring a close to one of 2016’s best rivalries – The Miz vs. Dolph Ziggler. The IC Championship is once again on the line, but it’ll be hanging high above the ring during this climactic Ladder Match. Ziggler’s a guy who will damn near kill himself to get the biggest wins of his career, which of will be the case again here. And Miz will take every opportunity here to eliminate Ziggler from retrieving his title, of course. We’re talking Maryse and even Spirit Squad involvement at several points throughout. Ziggler will do everything in his power to vanquish those outside threats, but it will do him no good. The Miz will reclaim his championship and continue his reign unbothered ’till the end of the year.

Heath Slater and Rhyno (c) vs. The Wyatt Family (Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton) (WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship)

Predictions & Winners: Imagine our shock when Randy Orton became infinitely more interesting as a brooding member of Bray’s clan. The Wyatt Family was down one member, but Randy became more in tune with his dark side and filled that spot. Now Bray and Randy are heading to TLC 2016 to make their play for Heath Slater and Rhyno’s SD Live Tag Team Titles. So here’s how we see things going down – Orton and Bray are going to torture Heath for as long as they can. Once Rhyno gets the hot tag, all hell will break loose. Luke Harper will spring up out of nowhere and almost cause the champs to lose their straps. But his interference will cause him to get sent to the back. Then, Orton will finally break out of his dark mental state and RKO Bray! The crowd will erupt after these proceedings and Slater/Rhyno will take advantage of that moment to get the win. Orton’s back to normal and his beef with Bray will carry over into a final match before the year ends.

Becky Lynch (c) vs. Alexa Bliss (Tables Match for the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship)

Predictions & Winner: This SD Live Women’s Championship rivalry has been a pleasant surprise since it kicked off. Becky Lynch has kept that title close ever since winning it at Backlash after a surprisingly awesome 6-Pack Elimination Challenge. The one lady wrestler who’s threatened to bring her reign to an end is the off-kilter (and Harley Quinn-esque) Alexa Bliss. Bliss has every right to this rematch since her foot was under the rope during their last title match. And that rematch is going to involve plenty of “wood” (The Dudley Boyz would approve of that joke). This one’s gonna go long and produce one of the better women’s matches of the year. Becky’s going to go extra hard and Alexa will certainly match her intensity in this hotly contested matchup. Prepare to be shocked, though. Becky will succumb to Bliss and eventually lose her grip on the Blue Brand’s Women’s Championship. Bliss will FINALLY claim the title here. That’s right, folks…Becky Lynch is going through a table!

AJ Styles (c) vs. Dean Ambrose (Tables, Ladders and Chairs Match for the WWE World Championship)

Predictions & Winner: Dean just can’t stay away from AJ, can he? It’s easily understandable as to why he’s stayed on his ass for months now. ‘Cause AJ Styles defeated him in surprising fashion for the WWE World Championship. But ever since these two greats got in each other’s business, another added element has made this feud a bit more interesting – the rise of James Ellsworth! That dude went from Braun Strowman’s punching bag to SD Live’s newest signee. And he’s got a few wins over AJ! Insane…just insane. Anyways, Dean’s kept him close by since he’s given AJ hell every time they meet. Dean will rely on his aid once again during this TLC match, we believe. And we figure him and AJ will perform some miraculous stunts in order to permanently get rid of the other. But this time, James’ involvement will backfire in some fashion and actually help AJ climb that ladder and grab his championship. AJ wins, James tries to apologize to Dean and Dean finally embraces the hate and drops James right there in that ring. Heel Ambrose will return at TLC 2016!
