Alabama enters the College Football Playoff as the favorite to win the two game tournament. According to Westgate’s Jeff Sherman, Alabama opens as a two touchdown favorite over Washington in the semifinal matchup.
According to OddsShark, the line has moved up to 16 points in favor of Alabama.
The Crimson Tide bring with them a dominant defense that finds the endzone. Alabama’s offense has benefited from dynamic Freshman quarterback Jalen Hurts at quarterback.
Alabama enters the playoff as the lone undefeated Power Five team. The Crimson Tide have done great against Vegas this season. Alabama went 9-4 against the spread during the regular season.
Washington held on to the final spot in the playoff. While the Huskies had a weak non-conference schedule, wins over quality opponents along with the Pac-12 championship was enough to give them the edge over Penn State.
The Huskies have been fueled by young quarterback Jake Browning and a bevy of receivers including speedster John Ross. Washington’s defense has been equally impressive especially their secondary which will be tested early and often against Alabama’s receivers.
ArDarius Stewart and Calvin Ridley are two of the best receivers in country. Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin has utilized them to perfection.
Washington did lose linebacker Azeem Victor late in the season, and Alabama could exploit the middle of the field in this semifinal matchup.
