As we approach the 2017 Australian Open, the oddsmakers believe there’s very little separating the World No. 1 and 2 players on both the men’s and women’s sides.
On the men’s draw, Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic–fresh off a thrilling three-set final in Doha–are the co-favorites. Djokovic has won an astounding five of the last six Australian Opens, beating Murray–the new No. 1–in the final four times in the process, including the last two years.
Over on the women’s side, Angelique Kerber is the World No. 1 and defending Australian Open champion, but she’s still a slight underdog vs. Serena Williams, who is seeking her seventh win in Melbourne and 23rd career Grand Slam title overall.
