Big Ben is in a big boot.
Just hours after the Pittsburgh Steelers advanced to the Divisional Round of the AFC playoffs, the Steelers QB was spotted walking around with a boot to support an injured right ankle.
According to Steelers beat reporter Jacob Klinger, Roethlisberger told reporters he injured his ankle on the final play of the game before kneeldowns. Roethlisberger also added that he will definitely play against the Chiefs next week.
If the injury at all affects Roethlisberger, the Steelers will have to ask questions about why he was on the field at the end of a blowout loss. The Dolphins have several physical defensive lineman, and were the same team that injured Roethlisberger in the regular season.
That injury kept the Steelers QB on the sidelines for two weeks, and caused him to look erratic in his first game back against Baltimore. Roethlisberger was sharp in the first half against Miami, but cruised in the late stages when the game was in hand. He finished with just 13 completions for 197 yards and two scores.
In Roethlisberger’s game against the Chiefs in the regular season, he led the offense to 22 points in the first quarter en route to a 43-14 victory. Landry Jones will play if Roethlisberger’s ankle injury worsens.
