NBA Power Rankings: Heavy’s Top 10 for January 16

6. Boston

Record: 25-15

Last week: 6th

Brad Stevens' Celtics have won six of their last seven games, but the lone defeat came against Atlantic Division rivals Toronto. While three of the four games have been played on the road, the Celtics are 0-4 against the Raptors and Cavaliers this season. There are some other teams in the East that could potentially have something to say about how things shake out when determining the biggest threat to Cleveland, but Boston has shown the ability to beat the Atlantas and Washingtons of the NBA. But to cement their status as a contender in the East, the Celtics need a big win over an elite team (they're also 0-4 against Golden State, San Antonio and Houston). Isaiah Thomas is one of the NBA's best scorers, and as a whole the Celtics are tough competitors. But more will be needed if they're to be a championship contender. (Getty)
