Oklahoma City Thunder center Enes Kanter was on a great stretch over his last 10 games coming into play against the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday night. He was nearly averaging a double-double over that stretch, with 18.3 points and 9.2 rebounds on average, and shooting over 58 percent from the field.
That all came to an abrupt end on Thursday night, as a frustrated Kanter struck the Thunder bench with his right hand during a timeout and had to leave the game with an injured wrist.
Kanter exited the game with four points in just nine minutes on the court on Thursday. Thunder head coach Billy Donovan confirmed later on Thursday that Kanter fractured his forearm.
Yahoo! Sports Adrian Wojnarowski later reported that the injury could keep Kanter out from six to eight weeks. Oklahoma City is 28-19 and currently in playoff position as the sixth seed in the West, though they might have to find someone to step up and fill Kanter’s shoes if they intend to stay in that position.
