USA earned a massive victory over Honduras last week, but they need to keep the momentum going when they hit the road to face Panama.
USMNT may have scored six goals in San Jose Friday night, but it was only worth three points in the final round of CONCACAF qualifying. That gives USA a grand total of three points, and put them level with the bottom teams in CONCACAF. To put themselves level with the qualifying squads, USA must hit the road and figure out a strong defensive side in Panama.
To their credit, Panama have been a tough out in CONCACAF competition. They have four points through three matches, but they’ve played in four straight international matches decided by one goal or less.
USA have played one away fixture during Hex play: an embarrassing 4-0 loss to Costa Rica. A win in Panama City would should the door on USA’s recent problems, and start a new era for the national team heading towards Russia in 2018.
