WWE personalities Renee Young and Dean Ambrose have been dating for over three years now, and their relationship has in recent months been incorporated into their WWE storylines.
The Miz, for instance, has repeatedly made crude reference to Young’s relationship with Ambrose, such as when he said of Ambrose to Young, “You’re the one sleeping with him.” There was a period of time, however, when this relationship was never once talked about on air.
Here’s everything you need to know about the relationship between Dean Ambrose and Renee Young.
1. They Began Dating in October 2013
Renee Young and Dean Ambrose began dating in October 2013. This came just about a half a year after Renee Young made her WWE debut.
In an interview with Channel Guide Mag, Young said that they immediately caught one another’s attention and soon began spending all of their time together, but there wasn’t exactly one precise moment when sparks began to fly.
“I don’t even know if I can pinpoint exactly what it was,” she said. “It was like instantly we were together. We were always talking to each other. We were always spending all of our time together. It just kind of happened. We just caught each other’s eye and were always around each other.”
She went on to say that she has heard stories from other WWE superstars like Nikki and Brie Bella about how Dean Ambrose never talks to them, but they noticed that whenever Renee Young was around, he instantly opened up.
“He is known to kind of keep to himself,” Young told Channel Guide Mag. “That has always been his deal. I don’t know. We just hit it off.”
2. They Went Public With Their Relationship in May 2015
It wasn’t until almost two years after their relationship began that Dean Ambrose and Renee Young publicly revealed that they were dating.
Among those who followed WWE rumors, it was pretty widely known that the two were dating, but neither Ambrose nor Young ever acknowledged this fact. That was until a May 2015 interview with Gorilla Position, when Young finally opened up about her relationship with Ambrose. In the interview, she clearly hesitates and debates whether she should answer the question, but she eventually does.
“Yeah, yes we are,” she said. “We are dating. We’re in love. We don’t care who knows it! It’s true, yes.”
She went on to say that she and Ambrose are “very private” about their relationship and that they aren’t interested in many people knowing about it. Clearly they changed their attitude over time, however, as Young and Ambrose would eventually appear as a couple on Total Divas.
3. They Live Together in Las Vegas, Nevada
These days, Renee Young and Dean Ambrose live together in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Viewers got a glimpse into their home on an episode of Total Divas, during which Brie Bella, Nikki Bella and Daniel Bryan visit the home. Young said on the show, however, that she and Ambrose don’t really have any friends in Las Vegas.
“We always want to have people come out to visit us, but with our schedules and stuff, it’s impossible,” she said. “To try to make friends as an adult is the worst.”
As Young mentions there, she and Dean Ambrose are constantly on the road, and because they both work for SmackDown Live, they get to spend a lot of time together.
“I understand there are times when he needs to take a moment and be in his Dean Ambrose mode and do his thing,” she said in a WWE interview. “But I mean, for the most part, we have our own memories we get to create being together all over the world. We’ve shut down hotels and hotel bars all over the world. So it’s so awesome we get to do that and then we get to go home together and go, ‘Cool, now do you want to just go around the corner and grab a sandwich or something?’ You get both sides of it. It’s perfect. I love it.”
4. Renee Young Says She Receives Death Threats From Dean Ambrose Fans
In a recent interview with Vegas Seven, Renee Young revealed that she receives a massive amount of online hate from Dean Ambrose fans who are upset that the two of them are dating.
“I get many a death threat…I mean, there’s a lot of anti–Renee Young pages out there,” she said.
Not long after this interview, a popular Renee Young hate page on Facebook was deleted.
Dean Ambrose also said in that interview that he has been stalked “on the phone and my home and hotels, to the point where it’s a little Single White Female scary, though I’m pretty sure I’m not gonna get beaten up and kidnapped by a 15-year-old girl.”
5. They Were Voted Favorite WWE Couple in 2017
On Valentine’s Day 2017, Dean Ambrose and Renee Young were voted favorite WWE couple.

This was only a few months after Young and Ambrose’s relationship really started to be incorporated into WWE storylines. Young has since slapped The Miz on SmackDown Live for referencing her relationship with Ambrose, and in December, John Layfield asked the Renee Young on Talking Smack if her relationship with Ambrose creates a conflict of interest.
