7. Edmonton Oilers
Record: 47-26-9
The Breakdown: Connor McDavid -- do I need to say more? The 100-point man was the league's scoring leader in the regular season, finishing 11 ahead of Pittsburgh forward Sidney Crosby and Chicago right wing Patrick Kane. After finishing the regular season on a 14-game point streak, the 20-year-old seems poised to carry that momentum into his first Stanley Cup playoffs. Overall, the team is riding high on an 8-2 stretch to close the season. The Oilers will face the Sharks in the first round. Although San Jose has an edge in playoff experience, Edmonton won the season series 3-1-1 and, beat the Sharks twice in the final two weeks of the season, including a win at the Shark Tank itself (SAP Center). Considering the Sharks' late season fade, Edmonton seems favored to take the first round. (Getty)
