Ryan Moore is making a surge entering the final day of the 2017 Masters Tournament.

The 34-year-old golfer sits in the top 10 after three rounds and looks to carry that momentum and win his first green jacket with a come-from-behind victory in Sunday’s final round.

Coming into the tournament, he won five PGA Tour tournaments, but never a major: the John Deere Classic (2016), two CIMB Classics (2014, 2015), Justin Timberlake’s Shriners Hospitals for Children Open (2012) and the Wyndham Championship (2009).

Moore claims that he learned to golf from his father as soon as he could walk. He’s been married to Nichole “Nikki” Olson for six years, residing in Las Vegas together.

Nichole is an athletic 33-year old mother of one who spends a lot of her time at Ryan’s side watching his ever-improving golf game.

Ryan was born in Tacoma, Washington and went on to study communications and public relations at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas. He graduated from the university in 2005, but not before he met his future wife, Nichole.

Nichole also studied at UNLV, starting in 2002. She majored in kinesiology at the school and graduated in 2006.

After meeting each other in their college days, the couple got married in 2011 and didn’t waste much time having a child: their first son Tucker, who was born in October 2012, just 12 days after his first tour victory.

Despite being on the road a lot of the time, Ryan has made efforts to alter his schedule in order to be there for him and his wife.

While she studied at UNLV, Nichole played for the Rebels’ soccer team.

She was a defender for the Rebels and started four games as a freshman. She scored 7 goals to go along with 2 assists in the 2002 season and scored a game-winning goal against Fresno State.

Her playing time increased as a sophomore, starting in 10 games and scoring 1 goal with 4 assists. Then as a junior, she excelled even more. She started in 17 games and was ranked fifth on the Rebels in points (8; 3 goals, 2 assists). Her younger sister Amanda also played on the UNLV soccer team. She was a freshman when Nichole was a senior.

Her passion on the soccer field started early on when she was a child and continued well into high school. Nichole was a three-year starter at Centennial High School in Las Vegas and was a three-time first team all-conference pick, making it easy to tell that she would go on to play collegiate soccer.

But it wasn’t only soccer that she played in high school. She also spent time on the softball field playing for her schools’ team, earning a letter.

3. Tucker Was Ryan’s Caddie When He Won the Masters Par-3 Contest

Wth Ryan typically traveling across the nation as part of the PGA Tour, the Moore family usually joins him.

Moore got a chance to play in The Masters Tournament in 2014 and tried to make it an event he and his family would never forget, and he succeeded. He brought along Nichole and Tucker, who was 18-months old at the time.

In the family-friendly Par-3 Contest that takes place one day before the tournament starts, Moore had a familiar caddie: his son, Tucker.

The bold strategy worked out so well that Moore ended up winning the contest, shooting a 6-under 21 on the nine holes.

He said following the win that having his son join him on the course is exactly what golf is all about.

It was fun having my boy out there and playing a round, you know, playing with a couple of friends. That’s what it’s for, to kind of make you relax a little bit and just go and enjoy yourself the afternoon before.
