The first ever NBA Awards went off with a bang as award winners were announced for everything from MVP to Rookie of the Year. After months of waiting, Russell Westbrook won the NBA MVP award over James Harden.
Drake served as the host of the event. Prior to this year, the NBA announced each award shortly after the regular season. The NFL recently switched to a similar format of announcing their awards at a live awards show, and the NBA has followed suit.
