Colorado Rockies center fielder Charlie Blackmon will be participating in the 2017 MLB Home Run Derby and was named a starter for the 2017 All-Star Game. He will face off against Dodgers rookie Cody Bellinger in the first round of the Derby and will bat leadoff in the All-Star Game. Blackmon’s first full-season came in 2014, and he was made the All-Star team that year as a reserve. Blackmon had an excellent 2016 season, batting .324 with 29 home runs, 82 RBIs, 17 stolen bases and a .933 OPS. Those numbers were good enough to earn him his first Silver Slugger.

Blackmon is off to a great start in 2017. He is batting .319 with 20 home runs, 61 RBIs, 8 stolen bases and a .955 OPS. He was named N.L. Player of the Month in May, after batting .359 with 24 runs, 22 RBIs and a 1.037 OPS.
