Preview

El Clasico has hit Miami in a major way.

South Beach has transformed for the weekend, as fans from both teams made the trip for Saturday’s International Champions Cup friendly. It’s just the second El Clasico played outside of Spain, and the first since 1982. Ronaldo won’t appear in the contest, but there is still enough talent and contempt between the teams for an enjoyable show.

In two regular season meetings last season, Barcelona emerged with a narrow edge. The teams drew 1-1 in the first meeting, and the second match was decided my Lionel Messi’s dramatic game-winner in April. Barcelona won the matchup but Real Madrid were the ultimate winners, capturing both the domestic and European titles.

Ronaldo played for Portugal in the Confederations Cup, and thus hasn’t appeared with Madrid during this American tour. The same goes for Barcelona players Andre Ter Stegen and Andre Gomes, who played for Germany and Portugal, respectively.

When El Clasico comes to Miami, you can expect ticket prices to soar. Tickets started as low as $245, but as of Saturday the cheapest ticket available is well over $450. On Saturday afternoon, Darren Rovell tweeted that a fan paid nearly $14,000 for two front-row seats to the match.

Kickoff is scheduled to start at 8:05 p.m. Eastern, and will air on ESPN. Keep this page refreshed for full highlights, including video of every goal.
