Why Has Stephanie McMahon Been Gone from ‘Monday Night Raw’?

Tonight on Monday Night Raw, Kurt Angle will reveal a shocking secret to the world, and it is rumored that this is leading to the return of Stephanie McMahon to Raw. So where exactly has McMahon been for the past three months?

Within the WWE storyline, Stephanie McMahon has been gone for so long due to an injury. You may recall that at WrestleMania 33, there was a moment during the match between Seth Rollins and Triple H where Triple H accidentally pushed Stephanie McMahon through a table. Vince McMahon appeared on the Raw after WrestleMania and said that Stephanie would be gone for some time because she was almost broken in half the night before.

Obviously, she wasn’t really injured at WrestleMania. In reality, Stephanie McMahon and Triple H went on a vacation in the Caribbean after WrestleMania 33.

However, by early May, Stephanie McMahon had returned to work, and she was doing plenty of media appearances as Raw went to London. She never did come back to Monday Night Raw throughout the months of May and June, though.

McMahon has been at WWE events recently; just over the weekend, she posted a video from the Mae Young Classic on her Instagram.

Since then, it seems that Stephanie McMahon’s return was just being saved for when the story was right. It also made sense to give Kurt Angle a bit of room to breathe before an authority figure like Stephanie McMahon came in to have a storyline with him.

When she was interviewed by The National in early May, Stephanie McMahon said she wasn’t sure when she was going to return to the WWE. However, she did say she was looking forward to working with Kurt Angle when she comes back.

“I can’t wait to work with Kurt,” she said. “Kurt is so entertaining. He is really funny. I think it is going to be so much and hopefully having that interaction and this time the situation is a little bit different as I am the boss.”
