Having lost their last two games by a combined three points, things only get tougher for Florida on Saturday afternoon, as the Gators welcome to town No. 3 Georgia, who have won their first seven games of the season and have their sight set on a spot in the SEC championship.

Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on CBS. Florida’s issues on the offensive end are no secret. The Gators rank 92nd in the nation in points per game (23.7), 100th in yards per game (351.2) and 70th in yards per play (5.4). While the running game has its moments, quarterback Feleipe Franks has had real trouble moving the ball through the air, averaging just 142.7 passing yards with one total touchdown and two interceptions over the last three games.

And Jim McElwain’s squad shouldn’t expect much reprieve on Saturday afternoon.

Georgia is stifling defensively, ranking sixth in America in yards per play allowed (4.1), third in yards per game allowed (253.2) and fourth in points per game allowed (12.3). The Bulldogs are equally as dominant against the run (13th in yards per rush allowed) as they are against the pass (second in yards per pass allowed), they average 1.5 takeaways per game, and they’ve had two weeks to prepare a gameplan.

On the other side of the ball, Florida’s defense is what will have to keep the Gators close, but true freshman quarterback Jake Fromm plays incredibly poised, and the running attack behind Nick Chubb, Sony Michel and D’Andre Swift is one of the best in the country.

Nothing can be taken for granted in rivalry games as big as this one, especially when the underdog is at home. But the Bulldogs are favored by 14.5 points, and there’s no real reason to think they shouldn’t back that up.
