The veteran has five games with 14 yards or fewer in five of eight games. In addition, Kmet has caught four passes for 40 yards over the last three games. The tight end will remain a risky lineup option in the fantasy playoffs.
Kmet didn't see a single target in Chicago's 38-13 loss to the 49ers on Sunday. Despite the Bears playing from behind all afternoon, Caleb Williams attempted just 23 passes. Chicago simply couldn't move the football versus San Francisco and ran just 52 offensive plays. Kmet was on the field for 92 percent of the offensive downs, and he's played at least 92 percent of the snaps in five consecutive games. That playing time alone keeps him on the fantasy radar ahead of a Week 15 date with the Vikings.
Kmet recorded three catches (on three targets) for 26 yards during Thursday's 23-20 loss at Detroit. Four days removed from earning 10 targets during a defeat to the Vikings, Kmet fell back to what he more or less has received most weeks this season (26 targets in the nine games in which he didn't see double-digit looks). With that knowledge, Kmet likely will resume his modest role in Chicago's offense in his next game Sunday, Dec. 8 in San Francisco.

Kmet benefitted from a particularly pass-heavy game script for the Bears, commanding double-digit targets for the second time this season. Kmet's spike performances have been tied directly to more passing volume from Caleb Williams, and the Bears could be forced to the air it out often in a Week 13 matchup against the Lions given Detroit's stout run defense. Even with that possibility, Kmet is a risky fantasy option. as he's seen five or fewer targets in all but two contests on the campaign.
