Newton Also Met Up With Old Teammate Greg Olsen

Shortly after Newton arrived at the stadium, he went through his normal pre-game rituals of stretching and bouncing the football up the field like its a basketball. As members of the Seahawks made their way in, Newton reunited with one of his former teammates and friends, current Seattle tight end Greg Olsen.

Olsen, 35, could have retired and picked up an analyst gig, but decided to play another year in the league and he landed with the Seahawks. In the season-opener, Olsen caught four passes from Russell Wilson for 24 yards and a touchdown.

As most know, Newton made an impact with the Patriots in his New England debut in Week 1 vs. the Miami Dolphins.

Newton and His Teammates Will Have to Rally in the Wake of Tragedy

Unfortunately, the QB’s outfit, the Newton-Olsen reunion, or even the matchup between the Patriots and Seahawks won’t be the primary discussion point during Sunday night’s game. Early on Sunday, Patriots’ running back James White’s parents were involved in a car accident. White’s father Tyrone, did not survive and his mother was in critical condition at last report.

White is inactive for the game and his teammates are struggling to pull it together ahead of the clash with Seattle.

It figures to be an emotional night for Patriots Nation. God bless White and his family during this troubling time.
