Struve taps Barry in second round
The story of this fight was not the height difference, but rather the submission game of Stefan Struve, who submitted Pat Barry in the second round of the co-main event of “UFC on Versus 6.”
The first round featured Struve’s length, as the Dutch striker landed well against his shorter opponent. Barry struggled to find his range and lost the round due to that fact. However, he did manage to avoid damage, while landing several nice leg kicks.
In the second, Barry started to finally land, as he hurt Struve with a big combination. But the fight hit the floor after Struve locked on a choke. Barry escaped the guillotine, only to find himself trapped in a triangle choke. He attempted to slam his opponent, but could not get free, forcing him to tap out.
Very nice win for Struve, and a big loss for Barry, who has lost two straight now.
