Jorge Masvidal Backs Conor McGregor: ‘You’re Disgusting’

There’s nothing like a mutual enemy to bring two rivals together.

While speaking with ESPN ahead of his UFC 261 fight against Jorge Masvidal, welterweight champion Kamaru Usman said that it’s “green panty night” whenever someone fights him.

“So yeah, does he (Masvidal) bring a little bit more eyes? Absolutely,” Usman said via MMA Fighting. “I don’t take that away from him. I’m proud of everything he has done, absolutely proud of him. Respect in that aspect but let’s be honest, I have what everyone wants. It’s green panty night when you fight me. He’s not getting the pay-per-views and stuff like that on his own. He has to fight me.”

As fight fans will likely know, one of Conor McGregor’s famous lines is that it’s “red panty night” whenever an opponent steps into the Octagon with him because of the major payday they are about to receive.

And McGregor didn’t take too kindly to Usman spinning his line. “Am I tripping or is this jack*** always at this? Everything I say.”

Then, Masvidal replied to McGregor’s tweet the next day. But, he took it a big step further. Sharing an image of the women’s product Vagisil, Masvidal wrote, “Kamaru the swagger jacker is back Green panties = yeast infections. You’re disgusting. Green panties means yeast infection for those of you that didn’t know. Help this dude out #andnew.”

“Gamebred” is set to rematch Usman in the main event of UFC 261 on April 24.

Masvidal Will Look to Capitalize on the Instant-Rematch, Earn His First UFC Divisional Title

Masvidal hasn’t competed inside the Octagon since his effort against Usman at UFC 251 in July 2020. “Gamebred” accepted the bout on less than a week’s notice after Gilbert Burns pulled out due to testing positive for COVID-19.

Although the fight didn’t go Gamebred’s way, Masvidal told ESPN that he feels like he’s seen enough of Usman to produce a different outcome this go around. “The Nigerian Nightmare” defeated Masvidal via unanimous decision, with the fight taking place mostly standing against the cage with Usman in control.

After a nearly 18-year career, UFC 261 will be Masvidal’s 50th professional fight. With a record of 35-14, Gamebred hopes to exact his revenge on The Nigerian Nightmare and finally call himself a UFC divisional champion.

McGregor Is Set to Fight Dustin Poirier in a Trilogy Match on July 10

Notorious and No. 1 ranked lightweight Dustin Poirier are 1-1 in their rivalry that has spanned over six years. They fought in 2014 at featherweight and the Irishman finished Poirier in the first round via TKO.

They rematched years later with “The Diamond” defeating McGregor via second-round TKO in January. The bout took place at lightweight.

Now, they are set to go to war on July 10 at UFC 264 with the winner likely earning a title shot against either Charles Oliveira or Michael Chandler, whoever wins the vacant lightweight title on May 15 at UFC 262.
