Deshaun Watson and the Houston Texans (10-4) attempt to wrap up another AFC South division title when they travel to Lincoln Financial Field to take on Nick Foles and the Philadelphia Eagles (7-7) as Week 16 action continues on Sunday.
The game is scheduled to start at XX p.m. ET and will be broadcast on CBS in select areas (coverage map here). The Texans’ only loss since September has come at the hands of the Indianapolis Colts. The New York Jets held a lead in the fourth quarter last week until DeAndre Hopkins hauled in his second touchdown catch with less than three minutes remaining in the game.
Foles orchestrated a masterpiece last week, as the Eagles stunned the Los Angeles Rams 30-23 on the road to move to .500, keeping their playoff hopes alive as well as a possibly repeat as NFC East champions.
Coming off of last week’s win, offensive coordinator Mike Groh remains pleased with the backup, and former Super Bowl MVP. Groh told reporters that Foles:
“I think every time he’s had the opportunity to play he’s been really effective, and we always are trying to build on things. We have a lot of confidence in Nick and what he does well, and just keep going there.
We’re focused on the Texans and trying to put another good plan together and play efficient football and have another balanced attack. Nick has proven himself over the course of time as an excellent quarterback in this league, and we’re lucky to have him.”
Philadelphia owns the tiebreaker against the Washington Redskins. If the Eagles win out and the Cowboys finish 8-8, they would earn the No. 4 seed.
