1. One Touch Fire Will Be the First Phone To Run on Mozilla Firefox OS
Alcatel’s One Touch Fire will be the first smartphone to run on Mozilla Firefox OS. The One Touch Fire has a 3.5-inch HVGA display, 1400mAH battery, with a 1GHz processor, 512MB of storage, 256MB of RAM, 3.2 MP camera (rear-facing), and supports both BlueTooth and WiFi connectivity.
2. One Touch Fire Won’t Be the Only Phone Running On Mozilla FireFox OS
ZTE Open and the One Touch Fire shared the same stage at Mozilla’s Firefox event. The ZTE Open features a 3.5-inch HVGA display, is powered by a 1GHz processor, has 3.2MP camera, 512 of RAM and supports WiFi and GPS capabilities. Huawei and LG will be following Alcatel’s and ZTE’s footsteps soon.
3. Mozilla Will Bring MarketPlace to Firefox OS
Only a small number of apps were confirmed at Mozilla’s Firefox event. You can expect to see apps like Twitter, Facebook, Where’s My Water, SoundCloud, Where’s My Perry, Cut the Rope and AccuWeather in the Firefox Marketplace. Users might be able to test out apps before they buy them.
4. Firefox OS Will Have Support From Over 18 Carriers
The One Touch Fire has over 18 carriers, including Telefónica, América Móvil, China Unicom, DeutscheTelekom, Etisalat, Hutchison Three Group, KDDI, KT, MegaFon, Qtel, SingTel, Smart, Sprint, Telecom Italia Group, Telenor, Telstra, TMN and VimpelCom.
5. One Touch Fire Will Be Released In Summer
We’re not sure when Alcatel One Touch Fire will be released in the U.S, but we do know the device will be available in Colombia, Spain, Venezuela, Montenegro, Hungary, Mexico and Poland. One Touch Fire will come in Pink and Orange and will be launched sometime in June.
