MWC 2013 Smartphone Predictions

Mobile World Congress is the largest annual exhibition of mobile devices, involving the largest players in the mobile industry. This year’s MWC will be held at the Fira Gran Via in Barcelona, and is expected to have upwards of 70,000 people in attendance. MWC is best known for debuting some of the industry’s most prominent devices. Here is a list of smartphones we can expect to debut at MWC 2013.

1.HTC M4 and G2

We already know that HTC has a press conference on February 19th, and it’s now expected that they will unveil their new flagship device the HTC M7 (“HTC One”). We learned a week ago that HTC has two other lower-tiered devices hidden up their sleeves, HTC M4 and HTC G2, both of which will be unveiled at MWC 2013.

The HTC M4 will feature 1.2 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Processor, 4.3-inch 720p display, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, and a battery life of 1700 mAH. The HTC G2 seems like it will be a lower end smartphone featuring 1GHz processor, 3.5 HVGA display, 512MB of RAM, 4Gb of internal storage, 5MP (rear) camera and will have a battery life of 1400 mAH. The HTC G2 will also run on Ice Cream Sandwich.

2. Huawei Ascend P2

Huawei Ascend P2 is being called Huawei’s “best device.” The Ascend P2 comes with a 4.5-inch display with 1080p HD display resolution, 1.8GHz quad-core processor, 8GB of internal storage, 2GB of RAM, 13MP camera (back) and 1.3 MP camera (front), Android 4.1 and a 3,000mAH battery. Thanks to the IP54 certification, the Ascend P2 will be water resistant. Ascend P2 users won’t have to worry about water damage.

3. LG Teases “Breakthrough” And New Series Of Mobile Devices

Sources are saying LG could possibly launch the L3 II, L5 II, L7 II, and the LG Optimus G Pro. LG might also announce a Windows Phone 8. LG recently made a short video for YouTube announcing a “breakthrough” at MWC 2013.

4. Nokia Lumia 520 And The Lumia 720

According to MyNokiaBlog.com, Nokia will be revealing five new devices. Two out of the five devices will be the Lumia 720 and the Lumia 520. The Lumia 720 will feature a 4.3-inch display, a dual-core 1.6GHz processor, 8GB of storage, 6MP of camera and a 2MP video call lens, The Lumia 520 will feature a 4-inch display, a dual-core 1.6GHz processor, 8GB of storage, and a 5MP camera.

5. Samsung Won’t Be Revealing The Galaxy S4

According to CNET, Samsung won’t be announcing the Galaxy S4 at MWC. Samsung has new plans to unveil its new flagship device this Spring in the UK. The Galaxy S4 will feature a 4.99-inch display with 441 ppi, powered by Exynos 5 Octa core processor, 13 MP camera and will also run on the latest version of Android Jelly Bean.

6. Samsung Galaxy Q

This month we got a glimpse of the Samsung Galaxy Q, a new smartphone device that features a bendable display. According to TechRadar, the Galaxy Q will feature two-3-inch displays with AMOLED HD screen with a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. Galaxy Q will also feature a 1.7GHz Exynos 5250 dual-core processor, 8MP camera (rear) and 2MP camera (front), 2GB of RAM, 3,500mAH battery and will run on Android Jelly Bean 4.2.1.https://youtu.be/YnUGAvwfTec
