Have you ever thought about how Google’s search works? Well, now you can! Google recently launched a new interactive infographic website, that reveals everything you need to know about “How Search Works.” This is the first time Google has made “How Search Works,” available to the public.
Jake Hubert, Google Product Manager, said in a blog, “Here you can follow the entire life of a search query, from the web, to crawling and indexing, to algorithmic ranking and serving, to fighting webspam.”
“The site complements existing resources, including this blog [Google’s Inside Search blog], the help center, user forums, Webmaster Tools, and in-depth research papers. We hope the site helps to illuminate the split-second journey from algorithms to answers,” Hubert added.
The site also features an animated explanation of search, and also takes a closer look at Google’s search and features. A live slideshow will show you how Google removes spam, and a graph shows how Google plans on fighting its spam issues.
If that is not enough information for you, you can read a 43-page document about how Google evaluates search results.
