Archos is releasing yet another new tablet for budget-conscious in mind. The Archos 80 Xenon has an 8-inch display with a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor. The Archos 80 Xenon runs on the latest version of Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) with 4GB of internal storage, and 1GB of RAM, there’s also a microSD slot so you can get up to 64GB of additional storage space.
It won’t have the brightest screen or the most detailed on the market, but it will offer an 8-inch IPS touchscreen with a display resolution of 1024 x 768. As far as the camera, there is a 2-megapixel rear-facing camera to take shots while on the go.
The device will be 3G and WiFi-enabled, and will be available in June for $244.80 USD, putting it competition with Kindle Fire tablets and the Nexus 7. According to Archos, the 80 Xenon tablet is best described as “Un-SIM locked” device. That means it can accept any SIM card from any carrier service.
Other features include Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi, a GPS transmitter and an FM radio. This may not be an iPad or Nexus but if you’ve got a budget, it may be good for now.
