iOS 7 Bugs & Glitches: Control Panel Flaw Allows Easy Access To iPhones

Apple sent out the final build of iOS 7 yesterday where it experienced a few glitches when it came to downloading. The memory requirement was too large for some phones while for others it took HOURS since Apple fans swarmed to the servers to access the program. Today, the process appears to be running smoothly but Forbes discovered another bug within one of the key features housed in the software.

Jose Rodriguez, a soldier stationed in the Canary Islands, has posted a new Youtube video identifying a way for strangers to easily access iPhones with iOS 7. Through the control panel feature, users can swipe up and hijack an entire phone regardless of a password. All they would need to do is to swipe up on the lock screen and go to the alarm clock button. Click on it and then hold the phone’s sleep button. When the prompt appears, hit cancel and then double click on the home button. That’s all it takes for someone to open your phone and browse photo galleries, send odd tweets, make expensive international calls etc.

This video is completely true. I have an iPhone 4s with iOS 7 and what the soldier does is accurate despite claiming it won’t work on the 4s model. I was able to quickly bypass my lock screen and open any of my apps. There is hope though. Head to settings and open the “control center” tab to adjust the security options for it.
