Pebble CEO Eric Migicovsky announced the Pebble Steel Smartwatch at CES 2014. Here are five fast facts you need to know about the Pebble Steel Smartwatch.
1. The Pebble Steel Features a Stainless Steel Body
The Pebble Steel features a stainless steel body with a 1.26-inch display, is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass covering the screen, and the battery life lasts up to 5 to 7 days. You will be able to choose between two colors: Brushed Stainless and Black Matte. The Pebble Steel includes two watch straps: metal and leather. Both straps are lighter than the original Pebble. The Pebble Steel also has an LED light for showing the charge status.
2. Pebble Steel Works With iOS & Android Operating Systems
Just like the original Pebble, the Pebble Steel works with both iOS and Android operating systems. Pebble Steel runs all the same apps and software as Pebble.
3. Pebble is Partnering With New Companies
Pebble also announced that Pandora, ESPN, and Mercedes-Benz will be joining their list of partners. Pandora, iControl, and Mercedes-Benz will be demoing their apps in Las Vegas.
4. Several New Apps Will Be Available for Pebble When the App Store Goes Live
Since its release, more than 3 million apps have been downloaded. Pebble will launch an App Store later this month. Users have had to download apps through third-party sites like MyPebbleFaces.com. The Pebble App Store will feature categories like Games, Tools & Utilities, Fitness, Notifications, and more.
5. Pebble Steel Will Be Available on January 28th, 2014
