Beloved comedian Robin Williams is dead from an apparent suicide. Williams was a gifted comic, and always had some humorous observation to make about the latest tech gadgets. Above, you can watch his amazing impression of Siri on the Ellen Degeneres Show.
Many of his fans didn’t realize that Williams was a huge fan of technology. In fact, he appeared on stage at the Google Keynote in 2006. In addition, he also saved the day during a TED talk when some technical difficulties stalled a presentation. Williams entertained the crowd by making fun of Google, quipping that everyone at Google sits at their computer on exercise balls, “which I think is how they’re hatching new employees.”
In the clip above, Williams jokes about mobile phones, computers, and the Internet. The video may be older, but the jokes still land.
In this 2008 video taken at the “improv jam” at the Throckmorton Theatre in Mill Valley, California, Robin Williams sings a hilarious little ditty called “My Cell Phone Only Has One Bar.” That’s a song about a type of pain that we can all sympathize with.
RIP Robin Williams. The tech community and the world at large will miss your laughter.
