U2 performed its new song as part of the celebrations of Apple’s iPhone 6 launch event. The Dublin group performed a song from their new album “Songs of Innocence.”

The album is going out free on iTunes. Now. In total, 500 million subscribers will get the record for free, it’s the largest album release of all time. In addition to being on iTunes, the release will be on Beats Audio.

Bono explained to Rolling Stone about how this was the band’s most personal album so far.

U2 have been connected with Apple since the band got a signature iPod in 2005.
