As you can see in the images above, Apple has let the cat out of the bag a day early. Apple’s big iPad event is scheduled for tomorrow, October 16. However, the leaked image above appeared on iTunes earlier today, spoiling the surprise about the new iPad Air and iPad mini models.
The Next Web explains that these images leaked on iTunes via iBooks, which recently posted an iOS 8.1 user guide for iPad. These images appear to confirm the rumors about the new iPads having a Touch ID home button.
Reactions on Twitter have been priceless:
Some tech fans are suggesting that Apple leaked the iPad info a day early, in order to steal the spotlight from Google. Earlier today, Google revealed a number of new Android L products, including the Nexus 6 smartphone and the Nexus 9 tablet. The Nexus 9 and new iPads are likely to hit stores around the same time, with the Nexus 9 shipping on November 3 and the new iPads expected to ship on October 24.
Apple’s iPad event is scheduled for Ocotber 16 at 10 a.m., Pacific Time. You can see all of your options for watching this event live in this post. According to rumors, Apple may also use this iPad event to showcase OS X Yosemite, a new Mac Mini, or a new iMac with a 5k display.
