Google officially announced Android L earlier this year at Google I/O, and subsequently revealed that the “L” would stand for Lollipop. According to that blog post, Android 5.0 Lollipop will come preloaded on the Nexus 6, as well as the Nexus 9 and Nexus Player. The blog post adds that Google will make Android L available on Nexus 4, 5, 7, 10 and Google Play edition devices “in the coming weeks.” According to a recent report from 9to5Google, you can expect the Lollipop update to hit the Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 on November 3. Nexus 4, Nexus 5, and LTE Nexus 7 users should have the Android L update by the end of November.
Google’s official Nexus 6 page states the Nexus 6 is “available for pre-order starting in late October.” You will be able to buy this device from carriers like AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, and T-Mobile. The device will also be available from Best Buy, Google Play, or US Cellular. This phone is expected to ship by mid-November.
