‘Awkward’ Season 4B Spoilers & Premiere Episode Info

Tonight is the season 4B premiere of MTV’s Awkward. Check out all the spoilers we collected to get you ready for all the Matty, Jenna, Eva, and Sadie drama this season.

– The first episode is titled “Finals.” The synopsis of the episode reads:

Jenna tries to focus on her finals after the senior ski trip, but aftershocks from the revelation threaten her chance.

– Actor Beau Mirchoff, who plays Matty, talks to E! about how his character is reacting to girlfriend Eva’s baby news:

He’s going to get the crib ready and paint that room baby blue! No, I think Matty is just going to roll with it. If she really is pregnant, then he’s going to do the appropriate thing and man up, be the father. But we don’t know if Eva’s being completely honest with her actions.

Christian Post gives the rundown on the first episode, writing:

The twelfth episode of the fourth season, it is said that Jenna will now be dealing with the nearing school finals, giving little thought on the events that happened during their senior ski trip in June 17’s episode entitled “Snow Job.”

– Matty overhears Eva showing her “true colors” to Jenna in the below clip. Check it out:

– It looks like Matty and Jenna may get back together this season. Actor Beau Mirchoff told Hollywood Life:

[Matty and Jenna] obviously have an undeniable physical attraction for each other. It’s like the earth and the moon. They just can’t get off each other’s orbit.

Actress Ashley Rickards added:

Matty and Jenna will always be attracted to each other. Matty and Jenna will always have feelings for each other.

– So, how is Matty going to handle Eva? Actor Beau reveals:

I think he sees something. Something doesn’t quite line up. There’s a little something fishy, but Matty likes to see the good in everyone. He’s giving her the benefit of the doubt. Eva’s been pretty nice to him, so there’s not a whole lot of reason for Matty to accuse her of anything … but he’s not just standing idle.

– E! News reports that:

While Awkward fans are skeptical that proven-liar Eva is telling the truth, it’s been frustrating seeing how Matty is just taking her word at face value. But according to Mirchoff, fans shouldn’t write Matty off just yet. “I think Matty may seem like he is on the peripheral right now and kind of naïve to all her inner workings that’s going on,” he says. “But he’s actually a little more sly than that at the moment. He knows some things. And he knows there is something a little fishy going on. He’s ready for anything.”

– How does Matty deal with his family issues and high school ending? Entertainment Weekly spoke with actor Beau who states:

First and foremost, he realizes that high school is ending and he has to do something for the rest of his life—he wants to go to a good school and finish high school well so he can get into a good college. However, he’s kind of just bombarded with everything that’s been going on in his personal life with his relationships and his family. He’s really lost. He doesn’t know what to do. He has no one to guide him through it, either. He feels very isolated and alone. So yeah, I think as the second half of the season progresses, he starts to realize his priorities and put them in order and everything kind of aligns for him. He has more clarity with what he should be doing.

He also reveals some love details about his character and Jenna:

I don’t think it’s over for Matty and Jenna by any means. I’d like to see them together at some point, if Jenna really has changed, because everyone makes mistakes.
