WATCH: ‘Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them’ Trailer Shown at SDCC

The Harry Potter universe didn’t end with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. That’s because Warner Bros. enlisted J.K. Rowling to write a screenplay inspired by the Hogwarts textbook Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by Newt Scamander. A new trailer for the film, which had actual magical beasts in it, was unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con International during the studio’s two-hour Hall H panel.

Here’s some reaction to the trailer:

Eddie Redmayne is playing Scamander, who goes on a journey to the U.S. 70 years before Harry Potter’s adventures in Hogwarts. It opens up a whole new aspect of Rowling’s Wizarding world. Other members of the cast include Katherine Waterston, Dan Folger, Alison Sudol, Colin Farrell, Samantha Morton, Ezra Miller and Jon Voight. It was directed by David Yates, who made the last four Harry Potter films and this summer’s The Legend of Tarzan, all for Warner Bros.

And here is the full panel for Fantastic Beasts.

Fantastic Beasts is expected to launch a trilogy. The new film hits theaters on November 18.
