These days, it seems as if Cash Me Outside’s mom catches as much as her daughter. During Danielle Bregoli’s second appearance on Dr. Phil, Barbara Ann Bregoli, 49, was roasted for her behavior in the lead-up to the second interview. A producer accused Bregoli of demanding to stay in a certain hotel as well as other requests. Both the producer and the doctor said that her behavior had been unprecedented. Other than that, there’s also a pending lawsuit as well as Danielle’s father, Ira Peskowitz, continuing pursuit of getting custody of his daughter.
Here’s what you need to know:
1. The Pair Are Being Sued Over an Alleged Assault
A woman named Kimberly Peterson, 27, from Lake Worth, Florida, is suing Barbara Ann over an alleged assault she suffered at the hands of Danielle, reports the Palm Beach Post. The incident occurred outside of Downtown Pizza in Lake Worth on February 26. The Post adds that Peterson had suggested Danielle go home.
The newspaper, quoting the complaint, reports, “At that time and place, a verbal altercation ensued, instigated by Bregoli, which led to Peterson being assaulted and repeatedly battered and punched by Bregoli, and those directed by Bregoli, causing serious bodily injury.” Though Peterson concedes that the majority of the damage was perpetrated by another person who the victim has been unable to identify.
Danielle told TMZ that Peterson’s lawsuit is “another attempt to get a dollar from someone that’s making them.”
Prior to Danielle’s second appearance on Dr. Phil, it was reported that in an Instagram live video, Barbara Ann could be heard shouting, “You f****** Muslim,” to an unknown person.
2. During a 2009 Interview, Barbara Ann Said, ‘You’re a Mom for Live. That Never Changes’
In 2009, Barbara Ann and her daughter, were featured in a Palm Beach Post article about Mother’s Day.
The article reveals that the pair lives in Boynton Beach, Florida, about 15 miles south of West Palm Beach. It also refers to Danielle as a “mature little girl.” It adds that while her mother was vomiting due to chemotherapy, it was Danielle who held her mother’s hair and rubbed her back. Barbara Ann says that during her 36-week long treatment, her daughter made friends with the nurses. When Barbara Ann was diagnosed Danielle was seven.
Barbara Ann talks about being let got from her job and struggling to get on Social Security disability insurance. The piece concludes with Barbara Ann saying, “Sometimes you think you are alone, but there are a bunch of moms like me out there who should be recognized. It’s hard being on your own. A dad is a dad, but a mom is the one who gives birth to the child. She nurtures that child. You’re a mom for life. That never changes.”
3. Danielle’s Father Believes Barbara Ann Cannot Provide ‘Proper Love & Guidance’ to His Daughter
In a March 2016 feature with the Palm Beach Post, Danielle’s dad, Ira Peskowitz, said of his daughter, “She’s not famous. She’s a child that is being exploited.” Ira also explained about how he reconnected with his daughter just a few months before her first infamous appearance on Dr. Phil. The report notes that Ira, “didn’t know quite what to make of her long acrylic nails, fake urban accent and “attitude,” as he called it.”
Ira has set up a Go Fund Me page to get the money to “get her the proper help she needs to be able to have a happy and healthy life in a stable home with a strong positive future.” The page also notes, “Despite her mother’s attempts to shut me out over the past decade, I always tried to be a part of Danielle’s life. I fear now her mother is doing all she can to cash in, at Danielle’s expense, on this viral fame-driven fiasco.”
During an earlier interview with the Palm Beach Post, Ira said he was “appalled” by his daughter’s fame. He says, “That behavior is appalling. And it’s appalling that anyone can think it is acceptable behavior. And Dr. Phil? Shame on him.”
That piece details the protracted legal battle between Barbara Ann and Ira Peskowitz, a sheriff’s deputy in Palm Beach County. He states categorically to the Post, “I did not abandon my daughter.” The Post’s article details that Danielle’s parents never married but were together for 16 years.

An online profile for Ira Peskowitz says that he has worked as a deputy for 18 years. It reads, “He describes his expertise as recruiting kids from inner cities while working in law enforcement and correctional facility tennis programs. Ira became a teaching pro to add credibility to his tennis program.” The bio adds, “He is the founder and executive director of the Kids and Police Tennis Association (KAPTA) which started June 2010.” It concludes with saying that Peskowitz is married and the father of two boys with not mention of Danielle.
In January 2011, the Palm Beach Post carried a photo of Peskowitz alongside tennis legend Venus Williams.
4. Barbara Ann Refers to Herself as a ‘Reality TV Star’

In late February 2017, TMZ reported that Danielle and her mother were in Los Angeles to try and secure a reality show deal. The gossip site adds that there are seven production companies involved in the bidding war. The same report mentions the “creepy” offers that Danielle has been receiving, such as club nights where the patrons are all 21 years of age.
As if to pre-empt their reality success, Barbara Ann refers to herself as a “reality TV star” on her Instagram page.
5. Barbara Ann Was Involved in Her Daughter’s Infamous Spirit Airlines Brawl
The mother and daughter pair was involved in an altercation on board a Spirit Airlines flight on February 6. TMZ reported at the time that Barbara Ann was struggling to put a bag into overhead storage. Another passenger grew impatient with the hold-up and caused Danielle to lose her temper. The result was a minor brawl and Bregoli being called a “w***er” the other passenger. Nobody was arrested by the responding officers.
