Miles Teller was arrested over the weekend for being drunk in public. According to TMZ, the actor was hanging out with a group of friends in San Diego in the early hours of Sunday morning and apparently had too much to drink.

TMZ reports that Teller, 30, appeared to be having trouble standing upright and was approached by a police officer. He was asked a series of questions, but he was “uncooperative.” At one point, Teller lost his balance and nearly stumbled into oncoming traffic.

The San Diego police officers handcuffed Teller and offered to take him to their detox location. It’s a place run by volunteers designed to give people a place to sober up. Those who end up at the location are permitted to rest for up to four hours. Teller refused to go to the detox center. Police brought him there anyway, but the report indicates that the actor refused to follow directions and the staff forced him to leave.

It was at this point that police arrested Teller and brought him to the police station. Teller was in jail for about four hours before he was released without bail. He faces a charge of public drunkenness, which is a misdemeanor. It is unclear if Teller will be appearing in court to face this charge.

Teller recently finished filming Granite Mountain Hotshots and Thank You for Your Service. In 2018, he is signed on to be in the television series, Too Old To Die Young. He is best known for his roles in WhiplashThat Awkward Moment, and War Dogs. You may also recognize him for his role as Peter from The Hunger Games series.

The actor has not released any kind of statement following his arrest. He also has not tweeted anything since June 12. His rep did not comment on his client’s arrest.
