PAX Prime 2014: Top 10 Video Games You Need to Play

5. The Behemoth’s “Game 4”

Indie game developer The Behemoth have given the world of gaming some of the greatest digital titles we’ve ever played – Alien Hominid, Castle Crashers and Battleblock Theater.

They’re prepping to reveal something pretty important at PAX Prime 2014 and we’re all excited to see what it could be. All we know is that The Behemoth titled this upcoming project “Game 4” at the moment and it has something to do with monsters and an ancient civilization.

4. Alien: Isolation

Alien Isolation

SEGA is hell bent on polishing the good name of the Alien franchise after it was sullied by the release of Aliens: Colonial Marines. They’re making sure to bring the game and its nifty looking (and somewhat terrifying) Egg Pod to PAX Prime 2014.

You’ve probably watched a ton of videos surrounding this survival horror take on such an iconic move franchise. Head on down to SEGA’s booth, play the demo and make sure you walk away with a special “Survive the Demo Competition” jacket. You might as well get ready for Halloween early by scaring yourself silly with the Alien: Isolation demo.

3. Far Cry 4

Far Cry 4

Another one of Ubisoft’s playable PAX Prime 2014 demos includes Far Cry 4, one of the most anticipated game releases of November 2014. You’ll get to taste just a sample of the huge open-world version of Kyrat and it’s limitless array of missions and terrain to explore.

We have a hunch that attendees will get a chance to play some co-op missions within the game and get caught into the Far Cry 4 hype. Ubisoft Montreal is a high-quality developer who’s penchant for crafting some well-polished titles, so you know you’re going to enjoy every bit of the Far Cry 4 demo.

2. Evolve

Evolve

PAX Prime 2014 is the perfect event for gamers looking to do some cooperative gameplay among a sea of fellow hardcore gamers. 2K Games’ Evolve is most definitely going to get Best of Show honors thanks to its penchant for hosting some of the most fun competitive/co-op gameplay seen today.

Will you become a Hunter and work together to kill off some massive creatures? Or will you take on the role of “The Goliath” or “The Kraken” and destroy the Hunters that are on your trail? Make up your mind quickly before you sit down to take Evolve for a spin.

1. Super Smash Bros. Wii U/3DS

Super Smash Bros Wii U

Nintendo is going to do some special things for anyone who’s showing up for PAX Prime 2014. They’re set to show off a bunch of Wii U and 3DS titles, such as Hyrule Warriors, Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric, Pokemon Art Academy, Azure Striker GUNVOLT etc. But we all know what game most Nintendo fans are heading down to Seattle, Washington to play – Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U and 3DS.

On Friday (August 29) and Saturday (August 30), Nintendo will have playable demos of the game posted up at several nearby locations. Keep a close eye on the #SmashBash hashtag on Twitter so you’ll get the chance to play some Smash.
